According to psychology professor Cleveland Evans, who studies naming trends, L'Oreal, ESPN and Del Monte, are, in fact, real names bestowed upon newborns. In fact, says Evans, who teaches at Nebraska's Bellevue University, the trend is no different from when 19th-century parents named their children Ruby or Opal.
